Leadership 90 Day Transition Plan.
The purpose of the entry plan is to create an intentional process for my transition into building leadership. The process is designed to honor and understand the past, to nurture the present by building on the good work that is currently happening, and to plan for the future inclusively and collaboratively with all stakeholders to increase student achievement.
The Principal’s 90 Day Transition Plan, will guide our work with continuity of relationships, programming, and building culture, keeping students the central focus. Priorities will include building relationships, establishing a strong school and community presence, and implementing collaborative plans that build on the exceptional work that has already occurred throughout _________ Elementary.
It is important to note, I will perform my duties and responsibilities associated with leading and operating _________ Elementary while simultaneously executing the transition plan.

Goal #1: Begin building strong and trusting relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.
Objectives:
- Listen, learn, and value the stories of the community members.
- Be visible, approachable, and kind to all staff, students, and families.
- Collectively learn and work alongside the team sometimes leading, sometimes following.
Action items:
- Fire up Social Media and begin connecting with all stakeholders.
- Obtain a school yearbook to learn the names and faces of faculty, staff, students, and other key community members in order to address and acknowledge everyone by their name.
- Be visible and present before, during, and after school hours.
- Craft a letter to introduce myself both professionally and personally to all members the community.
- Facilitate team building activities including sharing personal histories, taking personality inventories, and practice peer accountability scenarios.
- Set up time to meet with representatives from all parts of the building with the intent to listen and learn. These representatives may include:
- All teachers and support staff
- Administrative assistant and office support
- Lead teachers and union reps
- Student council leadership team
- Steering committee and school improvement team
- Building and facilities staff
- Parent representatives including PTO president
- External community members (i.e. community partners, businesses, pastors)
Goal #2: Get a pulse of ___________ Elementary and deepen understanding of culture.
Objectives:
- Observe student learning, teacher practice, and community engagement with a focus on asking intentional questions.
- Be flexible.
Action Items:
- Analyze data trends with key individuals.
- Meet with administrative team and review the school improvement plan. Meet with the school improvement team and ask for their views of what makes the school unique, areas to grow in, as well as any current issues.
- Create an entry plan with consultation with district leadership team to clarify goals and vision for the year one.
- Survey the staff:
- What are you most excited about this year?
- What do you need from me or our team to help you?
- Is there anything left from last year unresolved or need closure to move forward?
Goal #3: Ensure all students reach high levels of academic achievement.
Objectives:
- Serve and support our teachers, learners, and parents by getting them what they need to be successful in achieving high academic results with ALL students.
- Help foster an inclusive learning environment where all students have an opportunity to participate, take risks, gain confidence, and find success!
- Support teachers in closing learning gaps with personalized learning and technology.
- Partner with teaching staff in developing the 8 Mind Frames and reflecting on them:
- Do we believe our fundamental task is to evaluate the effect of our teaching on student’s learning?
- Do we believe that success and failure in student learning is about what we did or did not do?
- Do we talk more about learning than teaching?
- Do we see assessment as feedback about our impact?
- Do we engage in dialogue not just monologues?
- Do we enjoy the challenge?
- Do we believe it is our role to develop positive relationships in classrooms and staff-rooms?
- Do we inform families about the language of learning?
Action items:
- Understand and learn our curriculum
- Share research based strategies and best practices from a network of school districts pertaining to our Math and ELA workshop models.
- Evaluate our practices and beliefs together making sure we are in alignment with our district and constantly improving.
- Reflect and learn at each staff meeting and other intentional opportunities.
